Belay: Trade insurance, like “AppleCare for your investment”
Belay provides an insurance solution for trades, where a particular position can be “hedged” in case of selling for a loss
If a user makes a purchase of a supported stock or crypto asset, they can have the option to pay a small fee for Belay to purchase a short position in the same asset
If that position is sold for a loss, the short is sold for an equal amount of profit, leaving a cushion for investors
The volume for retail investors on the 3000 biggest stocks is around $38 BILLION every day
If just one percent of retail traders bought a policy for a 10% fee, that’s a yearly gross revenue of over $138 Million
Their goal is to integrate with whitelabel exchange tech providers, to give the option as the trade is executed

💰 Venture Capital News
Pitchbook recently came out with a report regarding the benefits of insider-led rounds. Insider-led rounds are new financing rounds led by existing investors. Below we have highlighted some key information from the report:
Investor interest in up-and-coming startups has increased over the last decade.
In 2022, insider-led rounds (ILRs) accounted for 23.8% of the total capital invested in the overall VC market, more than double the 2012 figure of 10.8%.
ILRs had a median deal size of $14.1 million, nearly triple that of the non-insider-led round median of $5.5 million, indicating that existing investors can attract more investment interest.
Both segments of deals experienced record-setting returns on venture capital invested in 2021.
There is no consistent advantage for insider- or non-insider-led rounds in terms of returns.
