We are thrilled to be back from ETHDenver, one of the most significant blockchain events globally, where we had the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded blockchain enthusiasts and innovators. We hosted another girl's (& boy's) table at ETHDenver! It was so great connecting a group of VCs and LPs!

  • Silvergate Bank in turmoil

  • Giant win for Yuga Labs’ ordinals project

  • Amazon announces coming “Digital Marketplace” for NFTs

🌗 Crypto News:

  • Silvergate, the main bank for Crypto companies, has been under scrutiny from American lawmakers

  • Silvergate stock ($SI) crashed 61% this week, and 94% over the past year

  • This all comes as analysts are calling the new regulatory focus on crypto “Operation Choke Point 2.0”

  • Wire transfers and SWIFT have been halted already, and withdrawals will be stopped March 10

  • Bybit says the “Payment gateway interruption is limited in scope”

  • Users can still use debit or credit cards to purchase crypto

💸 NFT Alpha: 

  • Around 15 collections are planned to be part of the “Amazon Digital Marketplace”

  • Despite the trouble in the industry, Amazon has announced plans to integrate with AVA labs

  • Amazon will not be conducting exchange on a common L1, but rather creating their own with a bridge

  • The collection “TwelveFold” had 288 top bidders for 300 pieces

  • The top bid was for 7.1159 BTC on TwelveFold #1

  • This collection was not related to the BAYC ecosystem

  • Using HeyMint, Sandbox will be whitelisting wallet addresses to get licensed avatars of the Chef himself

  • The mint, ending March 13, features 4 different tiers and 12 unique combinations

Emerge: Real Touch Feedback in Virtual Worlds

  • Featured in the World Economic Forum and invested in by the best of the best

  • A16Z, Soma Capital, Eric Schmidt, and other industry leaders are in this round or converting their SAFE

  • This series B round is at a great valuation for how much the company has done, and is accelerated by a deal with Disney and Star Wars for a VR game Spring ‘23

💰 Venture Capital News

  • PitchBook VC Dealmaking Indicator uses deal-level data to quantify how startup-friendly or investor-friendly the capital raising environment is.

  • Higher Indicator values reflect a more investor-friendly dealmaking environment, and lower values a more startup-friendly one.

  • Since 2010, the scales have tipped in favor of startups, but this trend has sharply reversed starting in 2022, largely driven by the expected demand for capital from startups seeking additional funding after having raised large rounds over the prior two years.
