Pitchbook: Stagnant VC valuations Fail to spur Discount Investment Spree
VC Industry Downturn: Despite signs of valuation bottoms, venture capitalists remain cautious, leading to subdued dealmaking.
Seed Stage Shift: Seed stage valuations initially rose due to involvement from large investors, but are now facing potential stagnation as these investors pull back.
Early and Late-Stage Valuations: Early-stage valuations have stabilized, while late-stage valuations show minor increases, primarily in high-quality startups.
Fundraising Delays: Many startups, especially in late stages, are postponing fundraising efforts to align with market conditions or grow into previous valuations.
Exit and Acquisition Challenges: Exits are appealing due to current liquidity issues, but IPOs and acquisitions are experiencing reduced valuation step-ups, indicating a cautious market.
